    Bright light; battery lasts
I put this in a closet that had no electricity for a wired light in April 2020, and it’s just now needing to have the batteries replaced 4 1/2 years later! Admittedly it’s an owners closet in a vacation rental so it doesn’t get opened a lot but still I am so impressed with this light and have bought several more. It’s extremely easy to install, the motion detection works great, and the light is plenty bright. And for the batteries to last 4.5 years…amazing! Which is actually good because I never have D cell batteries and only bought some for this light. They now make a rechargeable one which I also bought but haven’t had it long enough to compare.

My one complaint is battery life
For some dumb reason, our living room came with no lights, and lamps don’t really cut it imo. I got 2 of these, and now the room is plenty bright as if it came with lights wired in. My one complaint is battery life. They last probably like 3 weeks, so I will be ordering rechargable batteries for them now. If you get these, I would recommend just doing that in the first place rather than needing to buy more so often. In the photo, it’s dark outside with just these lights on, so you cann see they’re pretty bright!

Wish it was a little brighter.
Bought two for use on my basement steps. I occasionally have both hands full, so it’s difficult to hit the light switch. They work great, motion detection is flawless and I do like the fact that it uses size D batteries, which last longer than the usual AA batteries in similar lights. The only slight downside is I wish they were a bit brighter, but I still rate these a 5. (I have two portable “trouble lights” made by “Cat” (from Home Depot), that use four AA batteries, which produce lingering red spots in my eyes if I look into them directly, so I know the technology is out there.)

Nice Light but difficult to install
Its a nice looking light that provides enough light to illuminate my closet. The motion detector feature works well, but only stays lit for 20 seconds if motion is not detected. It would be nice if the on time was adjustable or have some more settingsMy issue with it has to do with the installation. The unit consists of three pieces: the light and the battery compartment. Next is a disc that snaps onto the light/battery unit. Finally there is another disc that is the mounting bracket that you attach to the ceiling, then the light battery unit is supposed to attach to the mounting bracket. Its inserted into some slots on the mounting bracket, and once you get the light unit in the slots you are supposed to rotate it a few degrees to lock the light unit to the ceiling bracket. The problem is that its almost impossible to get the light unit to lock into place. The reason it won’t lock, are the four screws used to attach the mounting bracket to the ceiling. The screw heads protude and prevent the light unit from rotating at all, much less lock it into place. I gave up using the mounting bracket as i could only get it to lock was when the bracket was removed from the ceiling and no screws were present to prevent rotation. Being in a closet its appearance wasn’t a concern. I discarded the mounting bracket and instead removed the battery compartment cover. I drilled four holes in it and used screws to mount the unit to a small board. I then attached the light/battery compartment to the battery cover and used screws to mount the board to the ceiling.I would give it four or five stars if the mounting system was better.

Should have bought one years ago!
I bought this light go over my shower. Like my previous house, the shower is kind of dark and I finally thought of getting a remote light. I just installed it maybe an hour ago but I like it so much I wanted to write a review right away. I won’t be using the motion feature as it only lights for 20 seconds at a time. I found a listing elsewhere on the site for a wall mounted remote holder, the remote is 2″ wide if you want to look for that listing. The light can be set on both warm or cold white light and you can adjust the brightness, I’ll have to experiment to see what combo I like better.I want to comment on the installation. The instructions say to use a 1/4″ drill bit for the anchors but I feel that is too big. With 4 D batteries in it this is a heavy unit and I have concerns that the anchors are not in securely enough. If I were you I’d start with a smaller drill bit.The other issue is the “fixing plug”. Mine came packaged in the hardware bag and not already installed. I think the company started sending it separate like that because people couldn’t open the back to install the batteries and didn’t figure out that the plug had to come out first. The fixing plug is a fat white plug that you jam into a large hole on the back after installing the batteries, supposedly to insure that the unit does not come apart unexpectedly, which is good. Since I have just installed my light I have not yet needed to remove the plug but I think you would use a flat headed screwdriver as that is called for in the directions and a flat screwdriver is not needed elsewhere.

    Nice light
Added this to a closet that didn’t have a regular light in it. It is very bright and picks up any motion to cut on.

Recently built a pantry but did not want to mess with wiring electrical for a light a switch. This was a great option and the light comes on perfectly every time the pantry door opens.

This was very easy to install and worked great for our shed that does not have electricity. It lights up when we open the door and we can see everything.
