    5 star product; one glitch
I’m very happy and impressed with these Black and Decker lights. They are a bit pricey at regular price, but they were simple to install and I had no problems connecting them to Alexa.I think two things made connecting them easy: be sure to check the box on the purchase page where it says something like “link these to your account”, and be sure to download the Black and Decker app; follow the instructions on the box and in the app.I’ve bought 3 sets so far, two of the 3-light sets and one 24″ bar for another room. It took longer for me to plan out exactly where I wanted them than it did to install them. After installing and connecting the first set, all I had to do was just install and plug in the other sets. Alexa recognized them without me having to do anything.Being able to set routines up is handy. I schedule my kitchen lights to go on “nighttime” mode at bedtime, and my bedroom lights come on at 9:30 pm.The motion detection works well *but only if your hand is an inch away* from the sensor. I think for most people it’s much more convenient to simply use Alexa, or make certain the sensor is in a spot that’s easily accessible for your hand. These aren’t motion lights that will sense you walking by; you literally have to pass your hand 1″ from the control box/sensor for the sensor to work. It’s a non-issue for me because I have it right where I can get to it on two of my light sets, and the other I strictly control with Alexa because the sensor is in an inconvenient place. The light settings are very adjustable in temperature and brightness. On the brightest setting they give off plenty of light.I suggest you try them in the place you want them before mounting them. They need to be shielded a bit, by your cabinet trim for example, because you’ll probably find them too bright to look at directly. For instance, I tried them under my counter, but when sitting on the couch facing that direction, they were bothersome.I mounted all of mine using the 3M stickers that come with the lights, and it holds perfectly. My only other suggestion is to buy more lights than you think you want. Once you get them you’ll be looking for more places you can add these.I can’t think of a negative for these, other than the light I recently added (24″ single bar) will turn on randomly – but it’s Alexa doing this. It operates fine otherwise, with the app or voice commands, but for whatever reason Alexa is turning it on at 4:45 p.m. on her own. They work as advertised (excluding my single Alexa glitch with the one light) and are a great addition to my kitchen and bedroom.

Easy to install and great customer service
I purchased two sets. Installation was easy. I had a little problem with connecting the second set to Alexa, but customer service helped me get that squared away. I had two light bars that would not change the light temperature – if I tried to use anything but Daylight White, they woud turn off completely. I called customer service again, and they sent me a new jump cable to try, which did not work. I called back and they sent me a whole new kit with 2 light bars and instructed me to replace one part at a time and try it to see if any one thing worked. Fortunately upon replacing one of the light bars, everything was working perfectly. The customer service was very friendly, responsive and helpful, and committed to resolving the issue I was having, which made the world of difference in how I viewed my experience with this product. The lights are very adjustable, work well with Alexa and I’m very pleased with this purchase.

    worth the price
Amazon lists many different products for use as under-cabinet kitchen lighting, and many of them are priced far below what these Black&Decker-branded ones cost… but these were definitely worth the money.I needed devices that were shorter than 10″ for some of my cabinets, and these fit the bill. I bought two kits: one with 6 light bars, and one with 5 light bars. Each kit came with power supply, controller, and a variety of interchangeable interconnect cables of varying lengths. The lights, controllers, and cables employ clever metal clips with a 3M-branded sticky pad that is very strong, and there were plenty of extra clips. The lights themselves are bright, with four different selectable color temperatures. The controller has an IR sensor so the lights can be turned on/off by just waving your hand beneath it. The intensity is adjustable, as well. The system is wifi compatible, and interfaced quickly to my iPhone. Using their app, you can turn the lights on/off, change the color temperature, and adjust the intensity. My only problem is that while one of the controllers quickly connected to my iPhone, the other did not. Perhaps there is a way to do that, but it’s not something I plan to use… I just wave my hand to turn them on or off, and I leave the color temperature and intensity where it is.In short, the system is high quality, easy to install, and comes with enough clips and an assortment of interconnect cables in different lengths to accommodate nearly every installation.

    A Must For Your Kitchen
These lights are amazing. Very easy to setup and install. I did have to drill holes inside the shelves and walls of the cabinets to hide the wires. I also used R clips to tuck the wires close to the framing of the cabinets since I wasn’t a huge fan of the clips that came with it. For the upper lighting, I did use the clips that it came with since those won’t be seen. But for the under lighting the R clips were perfect. Everything is managed through Alexa so it’s just a voice command to turn on/off. The ability to change the color is also nice. Not needed for us as we prefer the white color versus the yellow/blue. Take your time with the install and you won’t be disappointed. We were quoted over $3K for this to be done by an electrician and did it myself for a fraction of that. I installed a surge protector above the microwave and have all wires connected to that as the central point for for electricity.

So after putting up led strip, I removed them as my wife hated them. They didn’t look great. So I bought this kit. Everything is included. You get connectors and many different lengths of wire. No soldering, no cutting, no splicing. Easy install. I ordered an additional extension but didn’t need it as I used a connector that was provided to make a long run around the microwave. Excellent all in one professional looking kit. Expensive so perhaps look for a sale. But honestly not even in the same league as LED strips, especially if your spouse isn’t tall and can see the mechanics. They need to look professional.

This is truly for the tech nut — and lazy—person! (me)…You really don’t need Alexa to turn these off and on as they are motion sensored and will come on with the brush of your hand beneath! They have several light settings which is nice for work space and later–just soft lighting. They are easy to install, although you need to use outlets to power them which is somewhat inconvenient. I found the hardware provided to keep them concealed beneath the cabinets is quite reliable so far they are staying in place. All in all, a good device– but expensive and as I say…really more than necessary for under cabinet lighting, at least in my case!
